The thing about Leh is its unique culture that often borders into the realms of the surreal. Take for instance this shop. Located just a little ahead of the Shanti Stupa and the central mosque this shop sells curious. You have all the masks, musical instruments, dolls and more. Quite obviously, all of them do not reflect the Ladakhi culture, although the majority of them do, especially the rather scary looking masks. In short, if you are looking for some unique artifact this is surely a place you should visit. However, even if you are not a shopaholic, the humor of the shopkeeper will not be lost upon you. How many shops in the world will have the wit to display their staff like this? I really wonder!
